Dollar Tree used to be the place where I purchased miscellaneous household items for a discount. In the past few years, I’ve used the Dollar Tree for so much more, including spray paint and even fabulous seasonal decorations! Even though their prices have gone up past a dollar, it is still a great store to find awesome project supplies and decor.
History behind Dollar Tree
Dollar Tree is a discount variety store chain that was founded in 1986 by Macon Brock, Doug Perry, and Ray Compton in Norfolk, Virginia. The company was initially called Only $1.00 and sold items for $1 or less. In 1993, the company changed its name to Dollar Tree and began expanding rapidly across the United States. Today, Dollar Tree has over 15,000 stores in the United States and Canada, making it one of the largest discount variety store chains in the world.
The company’s success can be attributed to its focus on providing customers with a wide variety of quality products at low prices. Dollar Tree stores carry a range of products, including food, snacks, household items, party supplies, seasonal decor (hello Halloween goodies, awesome decor for the fall season, Christmas season etc) and lots more. The company also offers online shopping through its website and has expanded its product offerings to include items priced at $2.50 and $5.00, while still maintaining its commitment to offering customers value and affordability.
Did you catch that? If you don’t live by a Dollar Tree you can still purchase everything online? YESSS! You do have to buy supplies in bulk online vs individually in the store but if you like to hoard craft supplies like me it’s a win!
