If you are looking to replicate this little project, don’t feel like you have to find the exact same Santa Sack. As a matter of fact, I’ve looked through the Dollar Tree website and I can’t find the exact sacks I purchased. You can, however, find similar Christmas sacks on places like Amazon and even Walmart.

Speaking of Walmart, I did a very similar no sew pillow project from a Walmart Christmas canvas gift bag a few years ago. Do you remember it?

This was such a popular, easy and awesome project that when I saw the Santa Sacks at the Dollar Tree I couldn’t pass them up!

Y’all, this is seriously so easy I almost didn’t do a blog post about it.

RUN don’t walk and grab some Santa sacks from the Dollar Tree. If they don’t have them, no problem you can google “Santa Sacks” and you will find a million of them. Most craft stores will probably carry them around the holidays too.  Like I said before, you can find similar Christmas sacks on places like Amazon and even Walmart.

Note; when purchasing the canvas sacks, canvas gift bags, Santa sacks, etc. make sure to get the right size to fit your pillow inserts!

When you are measuring a santa sack for your pillow insert, make sure to remember to give plenty of room to “sew” and fold down the fabric to enclose the pillow.

The Santa sacks from the Dollar Tree are 16.5″ by 23.5.” Most of my throw pillows are 17″ by 17″ so that worked perfectly. Check out my affordable buying pillow guide for more ideas on how to buy throw pillows and some thrifty tips too.

As far as a fancy tutorial, this Dollar Tree Christmas craft is so easy I’m not even sure I need to write it out. I’ll try…LOL.

DIY Pillow from Santa Sack

  1. Insert the pillow form into the Santa Sack and push it all the way to the bottom making sure to fill corners
  2. Cut the Santa sack right under the top fabric if necessary (some canvas sacks will already be cut to size)
  3. Using no sew tape, cut the tape to the width of the opening of the sack
  4. Apply the no sew tape to the top of the fabric on the Santa sack
  5. Fold the top corners of the sack like you would wrap a present
  6. Fold the top fabric over and attach it to the other side where the fabric tape has been applied
  7. Apply more pressure to this area to make sure there is a tight bond between the tape and the fabric

Now sit back and enjoy your new pillow cover!
