Brand Overview

Heirloom Traditions Paint offers a wide range of options specifically crafted for home projects like furniture and cabinet transformations. Known for its ease of use, it often requires no sanding or priming, simplifying the painting process. The brand emphasizes durability and quality, making it one of my new favorite all-in-one paints.

Paint Characteristics

This paint is known for self-leveling properties, minimizing brush strokes and unevenness. It’s designed to be thick, offering excellent coverage in fewer coats. The paint is also low in VOCs, making it an environmentally friendly option that’s safer to use indoors.

Heirloom Traditions Paint boasts durability with a built-in topcoat, providing a protective barrier. It’s formulated to adhere well to a variety of surfaces, such as wood, laminate, and metal. Even though my mom’s cabinets are real wood, they are a mix of different types of wood which made this paint a good choice.

Let me show you her kitchen, before paint, in all it’s yellow wood glory!

Heirloom Traditions Warm Embers

Heirloom Traditions has a few different dark paint colors. Mom wanted a warm black tone since the rest of her home has all warm colors.

I know there are loads of different white colors and tones, but I always thought black was black. I have to say though, this is truly a “warm toned” black paint.

I won’t go into all the “how to” details, because I did that in my previous post about painting the bedroom dressers. Let me show you a few progress pics.

Pictured below is after the first coat of paint.

The instructions say to use a “brush and roll” method. This means you apply the paint with a brush and then use a foam roller to smooth out the brush strokes. It works beautifully.

We did take the front doors off to paint those separately.

I have to say, the warm wood tones with black really do compliment each other!

By the way, we still have the other side of the kitchen to paint and I’ll be sure to update the post when we do. Time has gotten away from us and I couldn’t wait to share the progress we’ve made so far!

This paint was so easy to apply that she decided to paint her laundry room cabinets as well!
