Can I be honest and say I’ve always wanted a beautiful canopy bed! Growing up you would see more of a four-poster bed style because you rarely saw a canopy bed with the top rails. I’ve always felt that a bed frame with soaring bed posts looked so stately, don’t you think? If this bed were a person it would say “hello, I am the focal point of the room.” LOL.
Even though I love a good canopy bed, I’m not much for the canopy bed curtains or bed canopies that seem to enclose the space. Also, I feel like the fabric, even if it’s sheer fabric, dates the room and makes it seem like it’s from the victorian era. Ok, back to my affordable canopy bed…

Affordable Canopy Bed on Wayfair
I found it on Wayfair for around $400 total cost (with shipping and tax). You can’t beat that! I’m not even sure you could make a DIY bed canopy with that price because lumbar is so expensive today. The old saying used to be “why buy when you can DIY” – well folks, in todays world it should read, “why DIY when you can buy!”
Ugh and you know I would rather DIY than buy…..this hurts my DIYing heart.
So here is the canopy bed. I researched many canopy beds to find one that actually had decent reviews AND was decently sturdy. Our last bed frame was made from crap particle board and basically fell apart after a few years. Not that I expected anything better, after all it’s just particle board. The one plus with this bed is that it’s made from metal.
The other thing I liked about this bed frame was the headboard. Most Canopy beds in this style don’t have a headboard or anything of decent size at the head of the bed. I will say I did not expect the large rhinestones in the tufting! But I’ve gotten used to them and I like them.
I love the visual appeal of this bed in our cottage style bedroom. My only struggle with this bed is the metal corner pieces- what do I do with the bedspread around it? I’m still trying to figure this out.
What do you think? I love the new bed. I was worried the bed would look like it swallowed up the room with the eight foot ceilings. I think it works though!
This bedroom has been through a few changes. I think this is my favorite!
Thanks for following guys.
