How do you decorate your mantel for spring and summer? Maybe you don’t decorate it at all and you keep the same decor up year round? If you’ve been around here a while, you know I’m not about decorating with a lot of fuss or money. Let me share a few tips and tricks on how to decorate a spring mantel.
The first thing to do is gather your supplies. DON’T feel like you need to go buy all new spring home decor. Look around and take a moment to “shop your house.” I do this all the time and you would be surprised at how easy it is to re create a space with a few decor pieces that you already own.
There are a few key tips to creating a visually appealing mantel, all of which I’ve summed up in this post about tips for decorating a mantel for any season.
In order to gather up the decor pieces, you’re going to need an idea of what you need. I’ve made a quick list below:
- A large piece for the center of the mantel
- greenery of your choice
- varying heights of decor pieces
- varying textures and colors
Since this will be for a spring mantel, obviously you want items that will reflect this.
In my normal fashion, I found a few great items at the Target Dollar Spot a few years ago that I’m excited to finally use.
This sign was one of those finds from a year ago.
I decided to use my old chippy window as the center piece and add the rest of the decor pieces around it.

Looks fantastic! Love it above your mantle. Thanks for sharing on To Grandma’s House We Go!
Thank you for sharing your ideas for a spring mantel. I love the simpleness of it which makes it all the more lovely.
The old window frame over the mantel is genius! It adds just the right touch. The greenery accents everything nicely. I wish I had a mantel. Lol! This is something I’d love to do.
Thank you Kim. And we didn’t have a mantel either until I decided to make my own!
I love that mantel. Seriously cute and you are so creative. I especially love that you’ve inspired me to do something with that sugar mold I have had sitting in my closet for years. I liked it back when our decor was more rustic but now…yippee – it’s going all modern farmhouse soon! Thanks!
A charming arrangement, makes me wish that I had a mantle!
Just lovely, you have inspired my creativity! Thank you!
You’re welcome to stop by for a cup of inspiration anytime.
Jennifer
Thank you Jennifer, I’m headed to your blog now.

Very pretty! Love anything with succulents.
Very nice! Unfortunately our fireplace is stone to the ceiling and doesn’t have a mantle. But these are good ideas for our antique buffet which I use as a display area.
I’ve pinned your post. 🙂
Your mantle looks beautiful! The succulents are so hot right now so this is hitting home for me. Beautiful job!
Thank you Christine!
Great idea.
Lovely and inspiring ideas! We have a used brick fireplace with a decent mantel, but I want to paint it a glossy white (ala Joanna Gaines). I love the idea of the spring greens on white!

Lindsey, your mantel is gorgeous! I especially love the succulents you mixed in – it’s the finishing touch that sets everything off!
I think this is just the prettiest! I love the chippy window with the watering can and that quote!
I just love old chippy windows and I love how your mantel came together with the pops of natural elements in the greenery and wood. I adore the stripes on your sugar mold too. Happy Spring, Lindsey!

That chippy window as the center is SO PRETTY and fun!! I love everything about this mantel!!
I am totally bananas for your chippy window, Lindsey, it’s fantastic. I love how you mixed it with the rustic containers, the succulents, and the lavender too. It’s everything spring should be – perfection! Hope you have a fabulous weekend, CoCo
Thank you CoCo! Your kind words mean a lot
Lindsey, your Spring mantel is perfect! The combination of chippy white woods and white accents sparked by the galvanized containers and greenery is fresh and definitely Spring!
Thank you so much!

Haha wow, it looks like we were thinking along the same lines with the watering cans and lavender! Gorgeous as always, Lindsey!
I was thinking that too!
Love these ideas! Totally perfect for Spring. Love how clean and crisp these look 🙂
Everything looks so cute!! Love the greenery against the white!
That old, chippy window is so fun! I love the way you decorated your spring mantel. The vintage touches are so charming!
The way you’ve repurposed all of those pieces is quite genius! This looks fantastic!
Oh Lindsey we love everything about your vintage spring mantel! Your whimsical touches really showcase the window centerpiece. Also, you are so smart to place the succulents around the mantel – love that idea. The sign is a perfect message for the season. Hugs and Happy Spring! ~ Vicki and Jenn
