Mason Jar Crafts

You know the saying, “good things come in pairs?” That’s really been a theme in my decorating lately. So when I was painting these MASON JARS I felt like displaying one just looked silly. Maybe there is an underlying thought here. It’s even written in the bible; Ecclesiastis 4:9 says “two is better than one.” I know, that was a little deep and doesn’t exactly mean always use two while DECORATING, but it is interesting how some things look so much better in pairs.

Back to mason jars; I don’t know what it is about MASON JARS, but I LOVE DECORATING with them. There are so many fun MASON JAR CRAFTS that I would use them all over the house if I could, seriously. They are so versatile, and can be repurposed in so many ways. Here are two ways below I have used them in our home.

In the picture below, I painted the jars and added a little rope with a hot glue gun. Just added a few flowers and now I have a great centerpiece!

DECORATING WITH MASON JARS

Here is another way I have REPURPOSED a mason jar;

MASON JAR SOAP DISPENSER

I used an old hand soap pump and inserted it in to the top of this “mason jar margarita glass,” painted it with milk paint, and hot glued a piece of ribbon around the top. Now, I have a very functional MASON JAR HAND SOAP DISPENSER.

It’s funny to think what my late grandmother would say if she saw this hand soap dispenser right now. Twenty years ago mason jars were a VERY functional and necessary item to store food. Now, they are becoming a decorating CRAZE! Anyone who has a Pinterest page and pins anything home decor related probably has saved a REPURPOSED MASON JAR pic. Am I right? Does anyone store food in a mason jar anymore? I can’t say I do.

These are just a few ways I have repurposed my mason jars. Anyone else have any ideas of how to use a MASON JAR? I would love to hear about it, so please leave a comment below.
